Moderating every comments is very hard, so I just decided to use CAPTCHA and I will no longer moderate comments.
I hope this will prevent more spams

Femtocell abroad?

February 1st, 2010

I’m really tired of roaming my iPhone 3GS in Korea, so I am trying to bring other carriers to my home. By using ‘Femtocell’
Femtocell is a very small cellular base station for indoor coverage. They connect to carrier’s network via Internet and connect to the phones like normal base stations.
So what I’m going to try now is buying a Vodafone’s femtocell, known as ‘Sure Signal’ and bring it to my home. Although it says it can be used only within UK but I think using VPN might solve that problem. Thankfully, unlike AT&T’s microcell, Sure Signal doesn’t have GPS receiver inside. Which makes more workarounds to do

SKT에게….

November 21st, 2009

SK Telecom

iPhone, Now available in Korea Telecom

November 21st, 2009

Today, Korea Telecom announced that they are getting reservations for their iPhones from now on, I never thought that this will came true. Because Korea’s mobile industry was very stiff, it is very hard to find mobile phones other than Samsung and LG’s, foriegn manufacturers couldn’t come in easily.
But worst of all, even Samsung and LG sold downgraded phones in Korea, there are few nice examples – Samsung Jet and LG BL40, wifi was removed and 3.5mm earphone port was replaced by horrible 20pin port.
And carriers kindly blocked IMEIs of foreign phones, so there were no way to use nice foreign phones in Korea rather than roaming it.

But, now iPhone has arrived in Korea, so I think manufacturers and carriers should reorganize themselves to they can survive from iPhone.

I think, now it is time for revolution!
